Please read the How This Works and FAQ on the YingwenTeach Home page to get a general view of how our programs work.

YingwenTeach provides two services for teachers:

Information:

Chinese Culture: Chinese culture is considerably different than western culture. Too often we westerners will make assumptions about what has happened or what will happen based on our own culture. YingwenTeach provides teachers will information about Chinese culture and ways to doing things that will make life much easier while in the Middle Kingdom.

TESL in China: YingwenTeach provides curricula and a large body of ESL-related information including many in-class activities, readings, and lesson plans  that are geared toward the Chinese students. Using these materials will lighten your work load, meet the goals of the program, and give you an opportunity to focus on the fun things.

Jobs:

YingwenTeach works closely with our Chinese colleagues to provide a rewarding teaching experience in existing programs  We work together to solve problem in advance as well as after they occur.

YingwenTeach is currently working with new education institutions to open up new opportunities for our teachers.  We focus on government-funded institutions  (public schools) rather that the current flood of entrepreneurial schools. Many of these have developed a reputation for being very unreliable.  Because we are Americans and teachers, we understand much better what you need to have a good experience.

Refunds:

At the time you apply, you are asked to send an application fee.

  • Fees are refunded in full if you are not invited to teach, or if the Chinese cancel your program. The only time our programs have been cancelled was during the 2003 SARS epidemic.
  • If you withdraw before April 1, you will receive a 50% refund.
  • If you withdraw April 1 or after, you will not receive a refund. There are two exceptions: a serious illness which prevents travel, or because of bereavement. Both must be documented.
  • There are no deferments for next year.
